Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first single was released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 titled Pho where she started to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued to post her music online including her self-released single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. Later that year her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some references for Rihanna. It was announced on December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that she recorded with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act on behalf of J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared in 2018 on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it was released on September 5th. On the 9th of November the singer released two new singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then on the 13th of November two singles, titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16and later released the song as a single by herself to her debut album. The song, released with a video posted on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been watched over 3 million times in the first 7 days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
